David Brooks: Amy Chua Is a Wimp
I wish I could call somebody a wimp on the New York Times with such style...I largely agree with the thesis of this essay, but the composition could be better, by the Brooks standard.

I don't think "wimp" is the word that describes Amy Chua. Though she may be the extreme. I'm sure her children are more prepared to handle the cruelty of the real real world than all the soccer kids who get trophies for just showing up. In the past America had strict standards for children... I feel it has been lost some wheres between time out corners and no-tolerance policies in today's schools where principals punishing the victim as well as the bully for fighting,
